Bundling and labeling vegetables

Vegetables such as spring onions, leeks, parsley and celery are often sold unpackaged. The irregular shapes make it difficult to label and “brand” these types of vegetables. With the Bandall veg bander, it is not only easy to bundle but also to label vegetables and provide them with branding information. A magnificent use of Branding by Banding.

Use sustainable packaging to bundle your vegetables

The new Bandall veg bander is a modular banding machine designed to bundle and label bunches of all types of vegetables quickly and easily. Initially, this model was specifically developed to “brand” and bundle bunches of bananas. After seeing a video the marketing manager of an Italian company ordered the same machine, except that he wanted to use it to bundle and brand spring onions. When this proved to be a success, he continued on to band other unpackaged vegetables, such as parsley, leek and celery. This too was a success.

Printed banding can replace twines or rubber bands and combines labelling and bundling. Banding can also replace complete packagings such as plastic trays with self-adhesive labels or printed plastic bags. Moreover the use of ultra thin banding material means huge savings can be achieved on packaging materials. For many this fulfils current requirements for more and more unique and sustainable packaging solutions.

Logos, best before dates, recipes and even storytelling with banding

The unique patented Bandall band transport system ensures that the printed banding is always firmly secured around the vegetables. Branding can be achieved by pre-printing the band with logos, slogans and other branding items. Additionally there is more than sufficient printing space for origin, bar codes, best before dates, recipes and other information.

It is also possible to print directly onto the band during the process of banding. Printing can be in multiple positions on the band and across the entire width if desired. To stimulate sales even further some also print on the back of the banding, for example with the their company’s story (storytelling), or perhaps with recipes for the package content.
