Zwartz's journey to a more eco friendly packaging solution
Textile factory Zwartz, a well-established name in the textile industry, has undergone a bold transformation that has upended both their production process and market position. After years of tradition, they have taken a radical step that has not only significantly improved their products and sales figures but also solved their packaging issues. The transformation has helped them become more efficient and continue to grow as a company.
Customers demanded sustainable, recyclable packaging
Zwartz faced a growing problem that struck at the core of their brand identity. Maikel Morzik, Account Manager at Zwartz, noted that customers were increasingly saying the plastic shrink wrap didn’t give their jute products a "natural" look. Customers wanted sustainable, recyclable packaging that matched the eco-friendly values of Zwartz's jute products. Additionally, the reflective plastic of the shrink sleeves distorted the display of the rich colors of the jute, undermining the visual appeal. This feedback forced Zwartz to seek a solution. They not only had to improve the appearance of their jute products but also reinforce their commitment to sustainability.
Kraft paper bands: an innovative solution
Textile factory Zwartz has successfully implemented an innovative solution to meet customer demand. By switching to kraft paper banding, the company not only improved the appearance of their jute products but also made a significant step towards reducing plastic usage. Maikel mentioned that the dark brown paper band perfectly complements the light brown color of our jute and rope, as well as our colored jute products. This band provides not only a pure, natural look but also reinforces Zwartz’s brand identity.
To support this transition, Zwartz equipped the Bandall Branding by Banding machine with a Novexx printer. This cutting-edge equipment features a buffer system that continuously prints and adjusts the length of the bands, ensuring efficient preparation without any unnecessary downtime. As a result, Zwartz has successfully lowered their inventory costs while increasing packaging flexibility.
The decision to implement this solution was made swiftly and seamlessly. Zwartz reached out to Bandall online, and the manufacturer promptly delivered the perfect machine. "We selected the machine on Friday, and by Monday, it was already set up in production and fully operational," shared a representative from Zwartz.
Reviving natural aesthetics and boosting sales
The switch to dark brown paper bands has yielded impressive results for Zwartz. This new banding solution has not only provided a refined and natural look but also led to a significant increase in sales figures. Customer satisfaction has clearly risen, which is reflected in the positive sales results. In short, Zwartz can confidently say that this change has been a successful and valuable investment.
